Short Physical Description:
Wood frame building approx. 5.3' x 5.3' with pyramidal-roof covered with wood shingles; exposed rafter tails; walls sided wtih 1" x 8" clapboard siding on 1" x 8" shiplap sheathing. Superstructure rests on a well constructed of 2" x 6" tongue-and-groove planks.
Long Physical Description:
Wood frame building approximately 5.3' x 5.3' with pyramidal-roof covered with wood shingles; exposed rafter tails; walls sided wtih 1" x 8" clapboard siding on 1" x 8" shiplap sheathing. Paneled door, now partialy covered with sheet metal, is located on south side. A 12" square glass block window on the north side. Superstructure rests on a well constructed of 2" x 6" tongue-and-groove planks. Interior access to the well is through a trap door. Water-stage recorder sits on a bench along the back wall of the structure and a flush tank is located on the floor.

Building is located on the south bank of Grinnell Creek approximately 800' below the outlet of Grinnell Lake, about 1-1/2 miles from Grinnell Glacier.
