This structure is a bridge in honor of Charles Kutz, Commissioner of Engineering for D.C. during the 1st half of the 20th century. It was intended to carry east bound traffic across the Tidal Basin and was dedicated in 1954.
Long Significance Description:
The Kutz Bridge was designed by Paul Cret, and was built by the construction firm of Alexander & Repass & Company. It was dedicated in 1954. This structure is in honor of Charles Kutz, Commissioner of Engineering for D.C. during the first half of the 20th century. It was intended to carry east bound traffic across the Tidal Basin.
